Supporting First Nations peoples

We're committed to supporting all members of the community

Despite more than 30 years of compulsory super, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people still have poorer superannuation outcomes than non- Indigenous Australians.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people face many challenges in accessing superannuation including verification of identity, communication and literacy issues, different cultural practices and relationships, and life expectancy differences.

TelstraSuper is committed to serving all members – including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in remote communities. While we're working to make sure our products and services are suitable for everyone,  if you need extra assistance please don't hesitate to let us know.

Our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP)

Chris Davies and Krithika Hansen standing in front of an Aboriginal artwork by First Nations Artist Kamara Jones. Chris is holding the TelstraSuper Reconciliation Action Plan. Both are smiling. The artwork features pinks, purples, browns and reds and tells a story of reconciliation.

TelstraSuper launched our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) in March 2023.

Our RAP formalises our commitment to supporting reconciliation with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It's endorsed by Reconciliation Australia.

Our RAP document outlines the tangible steps we're taking, with items assigned to various individuals and business units. We also report back to Reconciliation Australia on our progress each year.
